this is a piece from a while ago, but it really seemed to open a lot of doors in my work in terms of embracing symbolism with little context, as well as using colors as metaphors.

this is a commission piece i did for my aunt dee’s dining room. she asked that i paint something having to do with poppies / a tuscan landscape. while these are both very traditionally oriented images, i used a variety of more contemporary techniques in order to create a painting both peaceful for a living space and interesting to look at. can’t wait to see what color she decides to paint her walls around the painting!
